Florals- Feral Rose
Maureen and Sean’s Bali Hai wedding was a lush celebration of tropical romance, vibrant color, and modern coastal style. Their vision was to bring the spirit of the islands to San Diego — a joyful mix of orchids, anthuriums, and monstera leaves surrounded by ocean breezes and golden light. Coral, fuchsia, and soft peach tones created warmth and energy, while refined design details kept everything feeling intentional and elevated. From their oceanfront ceremony arch to the lively reception tables, each floral moment captured the vibrancy of a modern tropical love story.
The floral palette was inspired by the vivid hues of sunset over the bay — the deep pinks of bougainvillea, the glowing orange of the horizon, and the lush greens of tropical foliage. Our goal was to design flowers that felt alive with movement, layered with texture, and completely immersive. We built the ceremony arch with dramatic palms and cascading orchids to frame the water perfectly, creating a floral canopy that felt both sculptural and free. The reception designs echoed that same paradise-inspired story, with low centerpieces and glowing candles that brought warmth to each table as evening fell.
Designing Maureen and Sean’s wedding was such a joyful creative process. They wanted something that felt festive and luxurious but also deeply personal — a reflection of their love for travel and the natural beauty of their venue. Each bloom was chosen to honor that intention: bold, confident, and full of life. We worked closely with the team at Bali Hai to complement the space’s architecture and viewlines, making sure the florals enhanced the ocean backdrop without overwhelming it. The result was an atmosphere that felt immersive and organic, like the flowers had always belonged there.
Bali Hai remains one of San Diego’s most iconic wedding venues — a tropical escape right on the bay, with sweeping views of the skyline and the water. Its natural charm made it the perfect canvas for a design that celebrated both modern romance and island elegance. Partnering with photographer Nike Manzel ensured every vibrant floral detail was captured in soft, natural light, preserving the color and texture that defined the day.
